Now In Martin County Schools
Audubon of Martin County and Audubon of Florida, in conjunction with the National Audubon
Society, provide lesson plans and teacher materials to elementary and
middle schools across the nation. We in Martin County are proud to again
provide these learning materials to teachers and their students to
participate in the Audubon Adventures Program. Not only
are there classroom materials but Audubon of Martin County sponsors a writing and art
contest to reinforce the classroom learning experiences - the My Favorite Bird contest (PDF).
My Favorite Bird Writing and Art Contest
Every year the judges report that choosing the winners is a very difficult task as the essays are interesting with excellent topics and the art is delightful. Every essay writer receives a Certificate of Participation. Winners are ranked within each school and grade. Prizes are distributed at a pot-luck picnic, held at the Possum Long Nature Center, in May. Download more information on this year's contest. (PDF)
