2007 Audubon of Martin County 1st Annual Photography Contest
Audubon of Martin County (AoMC) proudly presents the 1st Annual Photography Contest. All winning entries will be on display at martincountyaudubon.org and at our office located at 621 SE Palm Beach Road, Stuart, FL, Monday through Friday, from 10 -2 pm - Oct 17 through Oct 31 and on Saturdays from 9 - Noon, Oct 20 and 27, 2007.
All entries will be judged on how well they express the natural environments and ecosystems of Martin County visited by the Summer Field Trip Series. It is not required that the Photographic submissions be taken during the actual field trips but must be representative of the locations.
There is a $5 fee for each entry into the Photography Contest. All entries should be works completed from June 1 through September 22, 2007.
Competition categories include:
A: Birds B: Animals C: Plants D: Wildlife in Action E: General Landscape
Adults and children under 18 will be judged separately.
Awards will not be given in any category that has less than 4 entries.
All entries must be delivered to the AoMC Offices between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept 25 or Wednesday, Sept 26, 2007, ready for display - See Rules.
Judging will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Awards will be revealed at the October 18 Audubon Program meeting. All awarded artwork must be available for display at the AoMC office through Wednesday October 24, and need to be picked up no later than Friday, October 26, 2007 between 10 am & 2 pm. For evening pickup please call to schedule. Winning submissions will be posted on our website for one month.

Photography Contest Rules:
- Entry Fee: $5 each enry
- All artwork must be appropriate for viewing by all ages.
- All work must be the original work of the submitting artist. No copyrighted work will be accepted unless the submitting artist holds the copyright.
- No copies, reproductions or kits will be accepted. B/W and color will be judged together.
- The submitted work must have been completed between June 1 and September 25, 2007 and must represent habitats, flora/fauna of areas visited on the 5 field trips included in the Summer Field Trip Series. Photographic submissions do not have to have been taken during the trips but must be reflective of the field trip locations.
- Submissions may not have been entered or awarded in any other contest.
- Submission specifications:
- Only 8 x 10 glossy’s will be accepted
- No photos shall be computer enhanced (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc)
- Photo’s shall be framed and properly prepared for hanging with securely fastened screw eyes and braided picture wire. In the case of metal frames, the fasteners inserted in the frame with screws to which the wire is attached are acceptable. Saw tooth hangers will NOT be accepted.
ALL WORK MUST MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS.
- All entries must remain on exhibit throughout the pre and post award period.
- If your entry is awarded, an electronic version of your submission will be required for posting on our website.
Special Note: Ownership of the works remains with the photographer and while every effort will be made to protect the photos from harm, AoMC is not responsible for damage or theft. If you do not want your work posted on line, please advise AoMC.
